Many chatroom systems use Flash for the entire system (UI, etc...); I like that this uses JavaScript via a Flash connection object, not a lot of people know that that is a possibility, and it's certainly a smart one that gives a lot of usability and speed that comes from not having to rely on plugins and working with the technologies that a browser works best with.
I've seen only a couple of sites use this method as well, and your implementation is definitely one of the better ones. It's simple yet with all the essential features, and thanks to your design friend, it looks pretty great too. Thumbs up!
P.S.: Your projector app undoubtedly played a pretty big part in making the final FOWA session the crazy awesomeness it was. Kudos on that!
